Earthquake Edition

That was the longest and the most enthusiastic quake that I have ever experienced so far. It lasted for about a minute or two and it was strong enough to knock down all my action figures on my shelf. Now I will have to fix them up again -_- Anyway, I checked online and as usual, my Facebook feed is flooded with statuses about the shakedown -_- and according to ABC-CBN news, it was a magnitude 6.8 earthquake and it hit the Negros-Cebu region, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Our house is only a hundred yards away from the sea but there have been no signs of a tidal wave (yet). Watching a lot of National Geographic taught me that one of the tell-tale signs that a tidal wave or tsunami is about to hit is when the water starts to retreat away from the shore back to the ocean, only to come back again as a giant wave after a few minutes. So far, the water looks to be the way it should be (I actually checked just a few minutes ago).

I just found out today that I was part of a 3 way tie for the fifth spot for the ACBA WCT round 5 but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the cut. I was ready to let it all go yesterday but knowing that I came that close to being able to get in the finals sorta makes me feel bad about it to be honest. It got even narrowed down to being a choice between me and another contestant, TheDEMAN92. He had an awesome display as well featuring Ant-Man finishing off a DC character that I don’t even know by throwing a train at him. He almost got eliminated for using multiple miniatures and different Ant-Man figures when the rule clearly states that we can only use two characters. Instead of eliminating him, they decided to scrub some points off his score card. I’m not really into being a sour grape but if I was, I would point out that he should have been eliminated and I should be in the final round. But I wouldn’t do that because I don’t wanna impose and cause a major argument in the whole ACBA community. Instead, I would take that as a challenge to be better next year when I join again. Better enough not to be on this tight spot again. Thanks to Boognice10 though for saying he thought my display was sick and he was rooting for me, that really means a lot. But there are other judges and the decision should b unanimous. I almost made it but almost doesn’t count. Congrats to TheDEMAN92 and goodluck to all the remaining five and I bet it will be an awesome final round. 

So this is my line up for the upcoming All-Star game next month. And I gotta say that this will be an interesting match. We will finally find out who is the “real big man” in NBA, Bynum or Howard. In my opinion, it’s Bynum. He has been slowly mastering the art of getting down the rim for easier hook or bank shots and his foot work has improved tremendously and even guys like Shaq is impressed. Howard on the other hand is more of like the best power forward in the league. He can really jump high for a big man and that is the reason why he can reach out and block shots most of the time. 

For the second unit, I’m going for Westbrook and Rubio for backup point guards in the west. Rubio’s fancy passing is just so fun to watch and I want Westbrook to match up with Derrick Rose. Blake Griffin will definitely be an awesome spectacle to watch. Just imagine watching a Rubio and Griffin alley-oop connection! For Backup guards I’d get Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin. These young dudes are just awesome sharp shooters and Lowry’s crossovers are just insane. I’d also add Monta Ellis and Rudy Gay for that added grit and Kevin Love and DeAndre Jordan for backup power forwards.

The east this year will be monstrous especially now that they have acquired Carmelo Anthony. Plus they have a lot of other athletic guards like Rondo and Deron Williams. They just have a lot of tremendous talent over there that I think they will win it this year. Or I might be wrong but it will be an awesome entertainment that I can be for sure.

Judging is being done right now. The waiting game is on.

I can’t believe this is the 40th already. Originally I was thinking of doing this daily but then I realized it was a tall order. There will always be days that are just too plain and boring to talk about. I will make a vow though, to post regularly. About toys and LA Lakers related or not lol.

So my friend advocatepinoy decided to let go of his new Marvel Legends Terrax wave so he could get the new mint on card ones. And he decided it to sell them to me! I already made the payment last Friday and he also shipped it that day. And I check on Air21 today and it has arrive my area and they are gonna be delivering it tomorrow! Gaaaah I can’t wait!

All 10 entries for the ACBA World Championship Tournament have already been submitted and now it’s just a waiting game. Everyone came out with superb displays and for me to get through this round and get to the finals is a long shot. But I’m still pretty satisfied with my self for even just making it this far in the contest. You can view all the entries here.

These past couple of days has been really unproductive. 2011 is on its deathbed and I guess I’m just riding it out doing nothing. Plus my sister is here for the holidays and I wanted to share to her the awesomeness that is The Walking Dead. So it has been a TWD marathon the whole day. Tomorrow will be Game Of Thrones.

I guess there won’t be anything more to this post other than that. Oh, maybe I can post some quick ACBA.
