This is my second Marvel Universe “bigs” and I was really excited when I saw it in the mall that I decided to buy it right away the next day… and it was a good idea because I only found one in stock at the time, had I thought of buying it in another time I would’ve really regretted it… this is the second series of the “Giant Battles” box sets and was officially released around April this year…

The packaging is HUUUUUGE!… it stands around 15 inches… probably the biggest I’ve ever had from MU… what I like about it is instead of using that regular wire-covered-with-plastic thingy (I don’t know what it’s called lol) to secure the figure in place, they used rolled up paper as strings… in that way it would be easier to get the figure out of the package.

The figure is heavy man… probably weighs about 10 lbs or more.

It comes along with a skull helmet… it makes the figure look mean and nasty when it’s on and I like it because its made of a soft but sturdy rubbery material… the Savage Frost Giant is an ugly fellow, with a fanged overbite, pointed ears, a bald head and a gold ring in his nose… his irises are red, and there are black tattoos on his chin… the skin is a dark icy blue, with a few highlights where needed… the paintwork is good overall, so no worries there…

Also comes with a very detailed stone axe.

The figure moves at the neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, hands, torso, waist, hips, thighs, knees and ankles… the left hand has individually articulated fingers, while the right is solid - that give him a firm grip on his axe… you should be really patient putting the axe in his hand though because it requires alot of work and effort… but once you find the way to keep it in place, he will never drop it.

The first time I saw the figure when I got it out I thought Hasbro decided to make a new mold for it… but then I checked on the reviews and they say it’s body base originally belonged to the 12” ML Icons Thor… but I really don’t care actually I still think they did a great job with it…

Size comparison with the Skrull Giant Man… it just stands taller by about an inch and a half…

With it comes along Loki… one of the top five villains of the Marvel Universe… they used the basic “small boy” sculpt with his body… the same base they used for guys like Black Spider-Man and Iron Fist… the head is new though and it’s very well made… he’s got the big funky horns, and the ponytail thing sticking out the back of his golden cap but the face has been sculpted with a wonderfully maniacal grin…

The paint job is great as well… they used dark green with darker olive green-ish wash to add more details and I like how they painted the “scale” thing on his torso and “panties”? lol…

Deadpool: This is the part where your friends from the Avengers come in and rescue us right?
Spidey: I don’t know dude, I think they’re too busy trying to finish their movie!
Deadpool: Oh, we’re screwed.

The figure just towers over regular MU figures and the axe alone is taller than Thor.

Loki: destroy them all!

Overall, I think this is really a nice set and I’m looking forward to getting the other ones in the future… I hope they’ll decide to sell the Galactus set here some time soon.
